PICTA Testimonial

I’ve been here at HMP Swaleside as a serving prisoner since September ‘04. I started at the PICTA Project in July ’05. Since then I have completed ECDL “European Computer Driving License” and about to finish I.T Essentials 1. Once I’ve completed this I plan on doing PNIE or CCNA.

The PICTA project offers a wide range of courses that could benefit anyone who would like to work in I.T or simply for there own knowledge.

Being here at the Picta Project has given me a reason not to re-offend and look to the future. If I hadn’t started here then I’d still be working as a Cleaner wishing my time away. I’ve loved working with PC’s for as long as I can remember and being here has given me the confidence to pursue a career in I.T. The qualifications that I’ll gain from here will help me immensely to gain employment in the I.T world. The instructors here have helped a great deal and give a lot of encouragement.

In conclusion I hope that the Picta Project is here to stay so that it can benefit other prisoners as much as it has helped me.
